Bali has become one of the top destinations for Yoga Retreats and trainings, spiritual courses and personal development work.
Many seekers travel to the jungle Mekka ‘Ubud’ to find themselves, or simply find some new inspiration and be around like-minded conscious travellers.
The name Ubud comes from the Balinese word Ubad, which means medicine. No surprise that the jungle town is flooded with healers, alternative therapies and the best vegan and raw food restaurants. Besides being a health hub, Ubud als stuns with its incredible rice field terraces, exotic sunsets and sacred water temples.
Here are our 5 must do’s for a true Eat Pray Love Experience
1. Go for a transformative Yoga Class, Sound Bath and Kirtan
Join one of Alchemy Yoga & Meditation Centre’s Signature Elements Classes followed by a delicious Sound Bath and a Mantra Concert or Kirtan. As one of the most holistic and integral places in town, we love our Alchemy connection (for the obvious reasons) and can only recommend you stop for a visit.
Have a delicious Jammu Healing Juice and some raw chocolates at the Alchemy Cafe after. Bliss!

2. Visit a local healer
n the midst of the hustle of Ubud’s Centre you can find the infamous Papa, who is offering incredible foot reflexology sessions. To book you simply show up and sometimes wait in line or watch other people’s experiences. Papa works by donation only and will make you return over and over again.
His family also runs a Guest House which is a top tip if you want to stay in central Ubud.
Location: Sandat Bali,
Jl. Sugriwa No.21, 80571 Ubud, Indonesia
3. Spend a day in a Spa
Oh what better place than Bali for spending a whole day at a Spa. Our favourite Putri Spa has 3 locations already and amazes with their holistic offers. We recommend going for a 2 hour Balinese massage, a flower bath, a facial with local products and a pedicure. Oh and for all ladies, try the Ratus (Yoni steaming) treatment. While sitting on a wooden chair and getting a nice steam of your intimate area, you also receive a delicious neck & back massage. Women’s self care deluxe.

4. Cleanse your energy at Tirta Empul Water Temple
One of Bali’s strongest elements is Water. The flow of water guides daily life on the island of Gods. It plays an important role to the Balinese as it is believed to be one of the key forces in life. Hence, water purification ceremonies to cleanse the body and soul as well as blessing rituals to enhance prayer and devotion are done regularly. There are several temples that are connected to natural spring water that is known to be sacred. A ritual bath at Tirta Empul may help you let go of the old and inspire new ideas and fresh starts.
Location: Tirta Empul, Jalan Tirta, 80552 Gianyar, Indonesia
5. Farm to table food at MOKSA
Nestled in the heart of Sayan, Ubud and surrounded by an astonishing 2500 sqm permaculture garden, the plant-based restaurant named ‘Moksa’ convinces with its healthy and creative farm-to-table cuisine. Its one-of-a-kind culinary experience is worthwhile returning and will surely keep you curious. We recommend trying out the jackfruit Tacos, Miso Baked Oysters and the Chef’s Bowl, topped off with a fancy Ginger Tonic.
